The Cashews: The Bob Brown Tribute Song

20 Apr 2012 | Bob Brown

Listen up! The Cashews performed a tribute song to Bob Brown this morning in the 666ABC studio in Canberra, on Ross Solly's popular Satirical Sing-a-long.

Listeners were challenged earlier in the week to write lyrics for 'Bob Brown, you've cut your career shorter' to the tune of 'Mrs Brown, you have a lovely daughter'. Originally written by Trevor Peacock, the best known version of this 1963 track was performed by Herman's Hermits and hit number one in 1965.

Audio is attached - the tune starts part way through the commentary.
