The National Rural Heath Alliance has issues its updated election scorecard, placing the Australian Greens ahead of all other political parties, Greens Leader Bob Brown said today.
"Unlike Labor and the Coalition, The Greens prioritise investing in health, education and tackling climate change above giving out billions of dollars in tax cuts," Senator Brown said.
"The Greens are committed to delivering better health services for Australians living in rural and remote areas, including for Indigenous Australians."
"The Howard government has announced $100 billion in tax cuts in the past three years, but it has not found the money for more hospital beds, nurses, doctors or dentists for the millions of Australians who do not live in cities."
"The Greens will redirect the $3.5 billion private health insurance rebate, which recent studies show has failed to take the pressure off public hospitals, and re-invest that money in public health and hospitals."
