Gas hub on the ropes: Senator Brown

Former national Greens Leader Bob Brown will tell a Perth Greens dinner tonight that Woodside's gas hub near Broome is 'on the ropes.'

Senator Brown has just returned from a trip to the Kimberley with Senator Rachel Siewert, where they  met with Goolarabooloo Senior Law Men on country.

Greens claim $20m package role

Australian Greens Senator for Tasmania Bob Brown welcomed today’s announcement by the Gillard government of a $20m Bass Strait transport package, though it is not enough.

“Senator Milne and I have worked hard to win help for Tasmania’s exporters with repeated direct approaches to the Prime Minister, the Treasurer and other Ministers,” said Senator Brown.

“But there is much more to be done.  For example, the fact that Hobart is the only capital which does not have the National Highway system enter and leave it must be rectified,” Senator Brown said.

Listen up! The Cashews performed a tribute song to Bob Brown this morning in the 666ABC studio in Canberra, on Ross Solly's popular Satirical Sing-a-long.

Listeners were challenged earlier in the week to write lyrics for 'Bob Brown, you've cut your career shorter' to the tune of 'Mrs Brown, you have a lovely daughter'. Originally written by Trevor Peacock, the best known version of this 1963 track was performed by Herman's Hermits and hit number one in 1965.
